About Me

Hi, my name is Rachel Ziese (pronounced ZZ) and I love to create!

Growing up, my family moved around quite a bit so I was often in a position of having to make new friends. I found graphic t-shirts to be an easy way to tell the world something about myself and invite conversation. As soon as I discovered puffy paint and fabric dye, I started to make my own shirts. When I was presented with the opportunity to work designing t-shirt graphics right out of college, it was a natural fit. For me, putting on a printed shirt I love has always brought me such joy.  The thought that I can do the same thing for someone else is why I love designing for apparel.  I love that I have been able to do this professionally for almost 15 years!

I am also a life long crafter and amateur photographer.  My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was little and I made friendship bracelets and did counted cross stitch beginning in elementary school.  My parents both enjoy taking pictures so capturing life's moments also became important to me. I received my first camera in sixth grade and began retouching and adding fun borders when we got Photoshop 4. In the age of smart phone photography, I still take almost all my photos with a DSLR. Also, I knit, sew, make floral hair accessories, and craft a variety of other items. In January 2010 I opened an Etsy shop (ZZDeZignZ) where I sell hand crafted items and digital photo cards. I often say I have more hobbies than any one person can possibly do.

I am currently available for freelance work or a full time position in the Twin Cities area. You can use this form to contact me for any upcoming opportunities.
